Virtual Village Kids Experience - April 5

Updated: Apr 5, 2020

We are so excited to have you join us for a Virtual Village Kids experience!

We hope this is an exciting way to celebrate Easter all month long! Jesus turned everything Upside Down when He came to Earth and put others first! So, we will be focusing on the life app Humility: putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve. In order to keep it simple, we have laid out the experience in 3 simple steps. (Note: If you have a child in Preschool, check out the Virtual First Look Experience as well!)

If for some reason the embedded videos have trouble, just click the link below to view them in YouTube! Have fun!

STEP 1: GET STARTED WITH LARGE GROUP

Our host for this week, Carrie, will be setting up the bible story, guiding us in a virtual game, and leading us in worship. Click on the video to watch!

(Video not playing? Watch it here!)

STEP 2: WATCH THE BIBLE STORY

Each age group has their own video! If you have kids in both groups, we encourage you to watch both. Or, if you only have time for one, we always suggest aging up and watching the So & So Show! Find your child's age group below to watch!

STEP 3: COMPLETE THE FAMILY GUIDE

Head in to your small group - hint: that's your family today - and work on the Family Challenge and activities in the Family Guide! There are two guides, one for K-3rd and one for 4th - 5th. If you have kids in different age groups, you will see different activities and discussion questions on each guide. Also, make sure your family completes the Family Challenge, which you can find on this page immediately below the Family Guides!

Family Challenge

For this week’s Family Challenge, your challenge is a continuation of the EXPONENTIAL BOTTLE FLIP CHALLENGE! Now that you practiced flipping a plastic bottle as many times as you could in a minute, grab a parent and have them practice with you! (And if you aren't sure you can do it, check out this toddler doing a successful bottle flip! Okay, now there are no excuses.)

Don't have a plastic bottle of some kind? That's okay! Use a roll of toilet paper!

Step 1: Once you are feeling pretty confident with your skills, you need to take a video of at least two members of your household - one kid and one adult - successfully flipping a plastic bottle. Or, if you have multiple kids/adults who all want to shine, film everybody doing it! (Note: they can be separate videos for each person. Or, if you can all land a bottle flip together and catch it on one video, that's awesome, too!)

Step 2: Then, post your video on our Facebook Post or in our private Facebook Group with the hashtag #BottleFlipChallege. Don't forget the hashtag, or we might not see it! Everyone who posts videos of at least one kid and one adult gets ONE entry for a prize drawing! There are no additional entries for sharing more videos, but please feel free to post a video of any family members who want to play!

BONUS: ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

If your family would like to continue the conversation of forgiveness throughout the week, check out the Parent Cue Cards and GodTime Cards linked below! Parent Cues are a great way for us as families to initiate conversations and engage our kids in the time we have together. GodTime cards include 4 devotionals for your child to complete throughout the week. Let us know if we can provide you with anything else!

2nd/3rd: Parent Cue | GodTime

4th/5th: Parent Cue | GodTime Preschool Place Mats: This printable placemat is designed to sit on the table all month long. These give you easy access to this month’s bottom line as well as questions to ask each week and hand motions to the Bible verse. April: https://thnkor.ng/2UOXMWQ
